Monsignor Joseph P. Kelly is guilty under canon law of the sexual abuse of two minors.  The Diocese of Scranton announced the findings on Tuesday, ending a four-year disciplinary process.  Seven individuals alleged that Kelly had sexually abused them as children prior to October of 2020, the Diocese said. Kelly was placed on administrative leave at that time.  By January 2023, the diocese received an additional allegation against Kelly.  The Diocese found five of the eight allegations credible, and Bishop of Scranton Joseph C. A youth minister was in court for sex crimes Wednesday. Terry Murphree is charged with nearly 20 counts of sex crimes including rape and clergy having sex with a child and human trafficking. Not only is Murphree accused of raping a 13-year-old child, Blount County Investigators also say he sexually assaulted four more underage girls and fathered two children with two of the victims. A teacher who sexually abused two schoolboys and became pregnant by one of them has been jailed. Rebecca Joynes groomed both boys from the age of 15, first exchanging messages on social media, Manchester Crown Court heard. The 30-year-old was previously convicted of four counts of sexual activity with a child and two counts of sexual activity with another child. Joynes cried and shook in the dock as she was sentenced to six-and-a-half years.

A former Tipton County teacher was indicted for sexual misconduct involving as many as 21 potential victims, according to the Covington Police Department (CPD). Alissa McCommon, 38, of Covington, was indicted Tuesday on 23 counts of sexual misconduct against minors, including Rape of a Child, after a seven-month joint investigation, officials said. Police said that the children's ages ranged between 12-17.

Matthew Antonio Zakrzewski, a 34-year-old child care service provider from Costa Mesa was sentenced Friday to 707 years and eight months to life in prison for molesting 16 boys, aged 2 to 14, and showing another victim child pornography.

Luis Jesus Barajas, 76, a former priest accused of “inappropriately touching” a 15-year-old Westlake girl sick with cancer while giving her a blessing, was indicted on six counts of gross sexual imposition by a grand jury. Witnesses told police Barajas used blankets and clothing to to hide his actions and his movements during the blessing were “unconventional.” Another Catholic priest learned of the incident and reported it to police on Oct. 20. Barajas was accused of sexual misconduct involving juveniles in the Diocese of Harrisburg, PA around 1989 and sent back to Columbia, said Westlake police.

This isn’t Fruzia’s first alleged victim either. The 50-year-old is named in a federal lawsuit against the Boy Scouts of America. According to the 2020 lawsuit, an anonymous victim accuses Fruzia of sexually assaulting him 20 to 30 times over the course of five years, starting in 1991. The alleged abuse began when the victim was 11-years-old. Fruzia was his boy scouts' assistant troop leader.
