An inmate at an east Arkansas prison serving multiple life sentences for raping and assaulting Boy Scouts as a troop leader in the 1990s has died. A spokesperson for the Arkansas Department of Corrections told KNWA/FOX24 that Charles “Jack” Walls, 75, died of natural causes on Aug. 23 at the East Arkansas Regional Unit in Brickeys. MONTGOMERY COUNTY – The Texas Department of Public Safety’s (DPS) Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant on January 9, 2025, at a residence in Magnolia, Texas. The investigation identified Michael Stephen Provost, 56, of Magnolia, as the primary suspect. Provost was arrested at the scene, charged with possession of child pornography, and was subsequently transported to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Jail. A Paragould man is being held without bond after police say he solicited sex with two children during a Boy Scouts of America “lock-in” at a church.
