Depraved former scout master David Barry has been freed from prison after serving just three years and nine months for the sexual abuse of 10 boys.

The vile pervert was transferred from the Midlands Prison to Mountjoy’s Training Unit in Dublin three days before he was released on Wednesday of last week.

Evil Barry (75), of Montrose, Firgrove Gardens in Bishopstown, Cork, was jailed for five years for a horrific catalogue of offences against young scouts in June of 2021.

His sentencing hearing heard how he’d installed bunk beds in his home, where he abused boys who stayed overnight.

The retired photographer also had a bar in place and gave underage boys from 13 to 17 alcohol following scouting activities.
