A Paragould man is being held without bond after police say he solicited sex with two children during a Boy Scouts of America “lock-in” at a church.

Greene County District Court Judge Daniel Stidham found probable cause to arrest 22-year-old Charles “Bradley” Cagle on one count of conduct constituting solicitation.

Detectives began investigating Cagle after receiving a report from the Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline on Sept. 14, 2024, of alleged sexual abuse at a BSA event in Newton County.

On Sept. 17, the hotline received another report of a second incident that occurred in the fall of 2023 in Greene County.

An Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division investigator interviewed the two victims, who are now 16 and 17 years old.

Detective Sergeant Jacob Higdon said both victims “disclosed acts” that would constitute solicitation of rape.

“Both victims named the potential defendant, Charles “Bradley” Cagle, as their offender,” the affidavit stated.

The court document went on to say the alleged incidents occurred on Nov. 3 and Nov. 4, 2023, during a BSA “lock-in” event at a local church.

“At the time of the incident, the defendant was a scoutmaster over both [victims],” the affidavit stated.

According to Higdon, Cagle made “corroborating and incriminating statements regarding the incident” during a Nov. 14, 2024, interview with his attorney present.

Police arrested Cagle on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025. He is being held in the Greene County Detention Center without bond awaiting his first appearance in court.
